I left it outside to charge. While I was at work, it rained. I mentioned it to my coworkers. Came home. Charger was still charging away… working fine. So it is at least rain proof. As for the charger itself, I used it while hunting. Phone was draining so I hooked it up. Very impressed with the speed of the charge.
